Caramel Popcorn

Ingredients

  • Serving Size : 1
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup white corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup cream of tartar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup popcorn – popped
  • 1 cup pecans; chop – toasted

Method

  1. Put the brown sugar, corn syrup, butter, cream of tartar and salt in a heavy saucepan.
  2. Melt over medium heat and bring to a boil.
  3. Boil 5 minutes
  4. Remove from heat and add the baking soda
  5. Stir well.
  6. Pour over the popped corn and pecans.
  7. Stir well.
  8. Put in a baking pan and bake at 250: for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  9. Pour onto buttered cookie sheets to cool.
