Chocolate Fudge Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 or 5 tbsp. cocoa
  • 2/3 cup nuts (pecans or walnuts)
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 or 3 drops almond flavoring
  • 1 tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 4 tbsp. white Karo (corn) syrup
  • 1 cup whole milk

Method

  1. Mix well the sugar, cocoa, and salt
  2. Add milk and corn syrup and cook over medium-low heat until the mixture will form a firm ball when dropped in cold water
  3. Remove from heat, add butter and beat until mixture begins to thicken; then add flavoring and nuts
  4. Continue beating until mixture will hold its shape
  5. Pour on to sprayed or greased pan or plate
  6. Allow to cool, then cut in squares
