Hibiscus Tea Slow Cooker Recipe

Ingredients

Serves 8

Active Time 5 minutes

Pressure/Manual (High) Natural/Quick Release

  • 1 cup dried hibiscus flowers
  • 8 cups water
  • 1¼ cups sugar
  • ½ teaspoon minced fresh ginger
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • lime juice
  • ice

Method

  1. In the Instant Pot, combine the hibiscus flowers, water, sugar, ginger, and cinnamon
  2. Secure the lid on the pot
  3. Close the pressure-release valve
  4. Select MANUAL and set the pot at HIGH pressure for 4 minutes
  5. At the end of the cooking time, allow the pot to sit undisturbed for 10 minutes, then release any remaining pressure
  6. Strain the tea into a glass pitcher and allow to cool; discard the flowers
  7. Add lime juice to taste
  8. Serve in glasses over ice
