Homemade Almond Milk Recipe

Ingredients

Makes 1 quart (4 1-cup servings)

  • 1 cup raw almonds
  • 4 cups water

Method

  1. Place the almonds in a bowl with enough water to cover and soak overnight
  2. Drain the almonds and place them in a blender with 2 cups of the water
  3. Blend until smooth, then add the remaining 2 cups of water and blend until very smooth
  4. Strain the almond milk into a bowl through a fine-mesh strainer or a colander lined with cheesecloth
  5. Refrigerate the almond milk in a tightly sealed jar
  6. Properly stored, it will keep for 3 to 4 days
  7. Shake before using
