Lemon Linguine With White Bean Sauce Recipe


Makes 4 servings

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 1/2 cups cooked or 1 can cannellini beans, drained and rinsed
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 pound linguine
  • 3 tablespoons minced fresh parsley


  1. In large skillet, heat the oil over medium heat
  2. Add the garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30seconds
  3. Add the beans, lemon juice, oregano, basil and salt and pepper to taste and cook until heated through, about 5 minutes
  4. Keep warm over low heat
  5. In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the linguine over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until al dente, about 10 minutes
  6. Drain well, reserving 1/3 cup of the pasta water
  7. Transfer pasta to a large serving bowl
  8. Mix the reserved pasta water into the bean mixture to make a smooth sauce
  9. Add the bean mixture to the pasta along with the parsley and toss gently to combine
  10. Serve immediately
