Multi-Bean Chili Slow Cooker Recipe

Ingredients

  • ½ pound (225 g) extra-lean ground beef
  • ½ pound (225 g) sausage
  • 1 cup (160 g) chopped onion
  • 1 can (15 ounces, or 420 g) kidney beans, no-salt-added, undrained
  • 1 can (15 ounces, or 420 g) black beans, no-salt-added, undrained
  • 1 can (15 ounces, or 420 g) pinto beans, no-salt-added, undrained
  • 1 can (14 ounces, or 400 g) no-salt-added stewed tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 can (15 ounces, or 420 g) no-salt-added tomato sauce
  • 2 tbsps (15 g) salt-free mexican seasoning
  • 3 tablespoons (45 g) brown sugar
  • 2 tbsps (23 g) chili powder

Method

  1. Brown beef, sausage, and onion together in a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat
  2. Combine meat mixture and remaining ingredients in large slow cooker
  3. Mix well
  4. Cook on low 8 to 10 hours
  5. Yield: 12 servings
  6. Per serving: 146 g water; 368 calories (24% from fat, 23% from protein, 52% from carb)
