  • 6 qt. pot
  • 10 c. water
  • 1 can tomato soup
  • 2 lb. pkg. dry kidney beans
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 lb. Portuguese sausage
  • Method

  • Rinse beans and cook in 10 cups of water until you can mash them.
  • (Electric mixer is faster!) about 1 hour.
  • The more you mash the thicker the soup.
  • Add rest of ingredients (add sausage whole, slice before serving) and add more water to baring to about 3 inches from top of pot.
  • Bring to a boil, lower heat and simmer for about 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
