Stuffed Peppers Slow Cooker Recipe

Ingredients

  • green bell peppers
  • 1 pound (455 g) extra-lean ground beef
  • ½ cup (80 g) chopped onions
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1½ cups (250 g) cooked rice
  • 2 tbsps (28 ml) Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup (245 g) no-salt-added tomato sauce

Method

  1. Cut tops from peppers
  2. Carefully remove seeds and membrane
  3. Brown ground beef and onions in skillet over medium-high heat
  4. Drain
  5. Place meat and onions in mixing bowl
  6. Add pepper, rice, and Worcestershire sauce to meat and combine well
  7. Stuff green peppers with mixture
  8. Stand stuffed peppers upright in slow cooker
  9. Pour tomato sauce over peppers
  10. Cover and cook on low 5 to 7 hours
  11. Yield: 6 servings
  12. Per serving: 262 g water; 282 calories (43% from fat, 24% from protein, 33% from carb)
