Pollock Chowder Ingredients

Seafood Pollock Chowder

  • 1 1/2 pounds pollock fillets — thawed if necessary
  • 1 cup onion — chopped
  • 1/2 cup celery — sliced
  • 1 clove garlic — minced
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 2 14 1/2-ounce cans tomatoes (14 1/2 to 16-ounce cans)
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano — crushed
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • Dash bottled hot pepper sauce
  • Method

  • Cut pollock into large chunks.
  • Sauté onion, celery and garlic in oil. Add tomatoes including liquid, water, wine and seasonings. Bring to boil; simmer 10 minutes. Add pollock; simmer, covered, about 10 minutes or until fish flakes when tested with a fork.
