Simple Portuguese Sweet Rice Recipe
Ingredients
- 1/2 lb. rice
- 1 can evaporated milk
- 5 eggs
- 3/4 c. sugar
Method
- Boil rice until almost soft
- Drain
- Add fresh water to barely cover rice
- Add evaporated milk
- Simmer over very low heat until done
- Beat 5 eggs with 3/4 cup of sugar
- Stir into rice until all blended
- Simmer a few minutes until rice is firm
- Garnish with orange rinds if desired
- Serves 4-6
