Steamed Veg Dumplings Recipe


Makes 4 to 6 servings

  • 2 cups fresh baby spinach
  • 2 cups finely chopped napa cabbage
  • 1 cup chopped white or shiitake mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup shredded carrot
  • 1/4 cup minced green onions
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil ¾ teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 16 to 20 Vegan Wonton Wrappers


  1. Steam the spinach, cabbage, mushrooms and carrot just long enough to soften, about 2 minutes
  2. Blot dry to remove any liquid
  3. Transfer the vegetables to a food processor and add the green onions, garlic, ginger, sesame oil, cornstarch and salt
  4. Process until well combined
  5. Working with 1 wonton wrapper at a time, place on a work surface and spoon 1 tablespoon of the filling mixture onto the wrapper
  6. Fold the wrapper over the filling to form a semicircle
  7. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water to seal
  8. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling
  9. Steam the dumplings until cooked through, about 10 minutes
  10. Serve immediately
