Natural Remedies using Valerian
Valerian is a perennial herb. Its flowers are pink or white and can grow to nearly five feet tall. The extract from Valerian flowers was used as a perfume but it is also used for medicinal purposes. Read more about Valerian herb.

The Benefit of using Valerian as a natural cure
Contraindications, Interactions, and Side Effects (Indian Valerian) Class 1 (AHP). Said to be a good substitute for V. officinalis (KAB).
Take valerian tincture. Adults: take 5ml diluted with some water, tincture strength 1:1, a few hours before the event, and then another 5ml diluted with some water half an hour before the event. If the event is in the evening you may need a dose in the morning, one at lunchtime and then another half an hour before the event. Do not be tempted to take a double dose in one go as that can send you to sleep!
A tincture is the best way to take this herb. In my experience the dosage can vary a lot depending on how sensitive a particular individual is. My general advice is to try the minimum dose to begin with, but if you dont notice the effect after half an hour take another minimum dose. Next time you use valerian you can try the larger dose straight away. If you feel tired after a dose, you have taken too much (unless you use it as a sleep remedy). I recommend that you use a concentrated tincture: 1:1 strength.
It is also worth pointing out that the nervous system tends to respond to herbal remedies in an individual way. Some people may need 5 drops of a sleep mix while others may need 2 teaspoonsful to achieve the same effect. Most people will relax after taking valerian, but a tiny proportion will get anxious or over-animated. You may need to experiment a little to find which herbs and which dosage suit your system. I recommend in general starting with a lower dosage and increasing it if you do not see any improvement.
