Easy Pepper Steak Slow Cooker Recipe
Ingredients
- 1½ pounds (680 g) beef round steak
- ¼ cup (31 g) plus
- 1 tbsp (8 g) flour, divided
- ¼ teaspoon pepper
- 1 cup (160 g) chopped or sliced onion
- ½ teaspoon minced garlic
- 1½ cups (225 g) green bell pepper, sliced in ½-inch (1
- 3 cm strips
- 1 can 28 ounces, or 785 g no-salt-added diced tomatoes
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) low-salt soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon
- worcestershire sauce
- 3 tbsps (45 ml) water
Method
- Cut beef into strips
- Combine ¼ cup (31 g) flour and pepper
- Toss with beef until well coated
- Place in slow cooker
- Add onions, garlic, and green pepper slices
- Mix well
- Combine tomatoes, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce
- Pour into slow cooker
- Cover and cook on low 8 to 10 hours
- One hour before serving, turn to high
- Combine remaining 1 tablespoon (8 g) flour and water to make smooth paste
- Stir into slow cooker
- Cover and cook until thickened
- Serve over rice
- Yield: 6 servings
- Per serving: 275 g water; 211 calories (17% from fat, 54% from protein, 28% from carb)
