Fajita Steak Slow Cooker Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 can (14 ounces, or 400 g) no-salt-added diced tomatoes
- 115g diced green chilies
- ¼ cup (65 g) low-salt salsa
- 1 can (8 ounces, or 225 g) no-salt-added tomato sauce
- 2 pounds (900 g) beef round steak, cut in 2-inch x 4-inch (5 cm x 10 cm) strips
- 2 tablespoons (14 g) salt-free mexican seasoning
Method
- Combine all ingredients in slow cooker
- Cover and cook on low 6 to 8 hours or until meat is tender but not overcooked
- Check meat occasionally to make sure it isn’t cooking dry
- If it begins to look dry, stir in up to 1 cup (235 ml) water
- Yield: 6 servings
- Per serving: 231 g water; 224 calories (22% from fat, 66% from protein, 13% from carb)
