Fajita Steak Slow Cooker Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 can (14 ounces, or 400 g) no-salt-added diced tomatoes
  • 115g diced green chilies
  • ¼ cup (65 g) low-salt salsa
  • 1 can (8 ounces, or 225 g) no-salt-added tomato sauce
  • 2 pounds (900 g) beef round steak, cut in 2-inch x 4-inch (5 cm x 10 cm) strips
  • 2 tablespoons (14 g) salt-free mexican seasoning

Method

  1. Combine all ingredients in slow cooker
  2. Cover and cook on low 6 to 8 hours or until meat is tender but not overcooked
  3. Check meat occasionally to make sure it isn’t cooking dry
  4. If it begins to look dry, stir in up to 1 cup (235 ml) water
  5. Yield: 6 servings
  6. Per serving: 231 g water; 224 calories (22% from fat, 66% from protein, 13% from carb)
