French Bread Souffle Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1/2 C. butter, softened
  • 8 oz. cream cheese
  • 1/2 C. maple syrup
  • 2 loaves French bread, cubed
  • 12 eggs
  • 3 C. half-and-half
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • ground cinnamon, for dusting
  • powdered sugar, for dusting

Method

  1. Grease 2 (7×11-inch) baking dishes with some butter
  2. Place bread cubes into prepared baking dishes about half way full
  3. In a small bowl, add the cream cheese, butter and maple syrup and mix until well combined
  4. In another large bowl, add the half-and-half, eggs and vanilla and beat until well combined
  5. Place the cream cheese mixture over bread cubes evenly, followed by the egg mixture
  6. Sprinkle with the cinnamon and refrigerate, covered overnight
  7. Set your oven to 350 degrees F
  8. Remove the baking dish from refrigerator and cook in the oven for about 55-60 minutes
  9. Remove from the oven and serve with a dusting of the powdered sugar
