Spanish Steak Slow Cooker Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (160 g) sliced onion
  • ½ cup (50 g) chopped celery
  • ¾ cup (113 g) green bell pepper, sliced in rings
  • 1 pound (455 g) beef round steak
  • 2 tsps dried parsley
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp (9 g) dry mustard
  • 1 tbsp (7.5 g) chili powder
  • 1 cup (180 g) no-salt-added diced tomatoes
  • 2 tsps minced garlic
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper

Method

  1. Put half of onion, celery, and green pepper in slow cooker
  2. Cut steak into serving-size pieces
  3. Place steak pieces in slow cooker
  4. Put remaining onion, celery, and green pepper over steak
  5. Combine remaining ingredients
  6. Pour over meat
  7. Cover and cook on low 8 hours
  8. Yield: 4 servings
  9. Per serving: 214 g water; 192 calories (21% from fat, 58% from protein, 21% from carb)
  10. Serve over noodles or rice
