Beerocks Recipe



  • 2 pkgs. dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp. shortening9-10 cups flour


  • 2 lbs. hamburger
  • 1 head of cabbage 1 onion
  • salt and pepper, garlic powder to taste cheese



  1. Dissolve yeast in 3/4 cup warm water
  2. Stir in sugar, salt, shortening and five cups flour
  3. Knead 10 minutes (keep adding flour)
  4. Place in greased bowl, cover, let rise in warm place till doubled


  1. Saute hamburger with onions, adding salt, pepper, and garlic powder
  2. Add enough cabbage to equal quantity of hamburger
  3. Cook until cabbage is tender but still firm
  4. Roll out dough out about 1/2 inch thick, cut into 5 inch squares and place a heaping tablespoon of filling on each square
  5. Add a little cheese and bring all four corners together and pinch to seal
  6. Place on greased baking sheet
  7. Set in warm place to rise 15-20 minutes
  8. Bake at 350F for 20 minutes or until golden brown
  9. Spread butter over the tops and allow to cool
