Deep Dish Peach Pie Recipe

Ingredients

  • Serving Size : 8
  • 2 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 4 tablespoon butter
  • 1 1/2 pound fresh peaches (6 c sliced)
  • 2 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3 tablespoon flour
  • 1 cup heavy cream – whipped

Method

  1. Prepare pastry for 8″ single crust pie.
  2. Set aside.
  3. Sprinkle lemon juice over peach slices in large bowl.
  4. Mix 1 1/4 cup sugar with the salt, nutmeg, cinnamon and flour.
  5. Add to peaches.
  6. Toss until evenly coated.
  7. Spread in 1 1/2 quart baking dish.
  8. Dot with butter.
  9. Roll out pastry to cover dish with 1 1/2 inch overhang.
  10. Press pastry to edge of dish and flute edge.
  11. Cut 3 vents in top.
  12. Sprinkle with remaining sugar.
  13. Bake 10 minutes at 450 degrees, then reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake 30 minutes more.
  14. Serve with whipped cream.
  15. Makes 1 pie
  16. Preheat oven to 450 degrees
