Air Fryer Sesame Encrusted Ahi Tuna With Hoisin Sauce
Ingredients
Serves 2
- ¼ cup sesame seeds
- 1 tablespoon black sesame seeds
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon pepper, freshly ground
- 1 egg white, beaten
- 2 6-ounce ahi tuna steaks, approximately 1½-inches thick Sauce
- ¼ cup Hoisin sauce
- juice of 2 limes
- 2 tablespoons rice wine vinegar
- 2 tablespoon low sodium soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey, or agave nectar
- ¼ teaspoon ground white pepper
Method
- Prepare the sauce by whisking together all the ingredients
- Set aside
- In a shallow baking dish, combine the sesame seeds, salt and pepper
- Place the egg white in a bowl
- Dip each tuna steak in the egg white, then press in the sesame seeds to completely coat
- Place each tuna steak in the AIR FRYER basket
- Set temperature to 400 degrees and time for 3 minutes
- Turn the tuna steaks and cook for an additional 3 minutes
- Serve sliced with sauce on the side
