Air Fryer Sesame Encrusted Ahi Tuna With Hoisin Sauce


Serves 2

  • ¼ cup sesame seeds
  • 1 tablespoon black sesame seeds
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper, freshly ground
  • 1 egg white, beaten
  • 2 6-ounce ahi tuna steaks, approximately 1½-inches thick Sauce
  • ¼ cup Hoisin sauce
  • juice of 2 limes
  • 2 tablespoons rice wine vinegar
  • 2 tablespoon low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey, or agave nectar
  • ¼ teaspoon ground white pepper


  1. Prepare the sauce by whisking together all the ingredients
  2. Set aside
  3. In a shallow baking dish, combine the sesame seeds, salt and pepper
  4. Place the egg white in a bowl
  5. Dip each tuna steak in the egg white, then press in the sesame seeds to completely coat
  6. Place each tuna steak in the AIR FRYER basket
  7. Set temperature to 400 degrees and time for 3 minutes
  8. Turn the tuna steaks and cook for an additional 3 minutes
  9. Serve sliced with sauce on the side
