Ingredients
Makes about 2 cups
- 1 (12-ounce) package fresh cranberries
- 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper
Method
- In a large saucepan, combine the cranberries, vinegar and sugar and bring to a boil
- Reduce heat to low and stir in the cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and crushed red pepper
- Simmer until the mixture is thick, stirring frequently, about 20 minutes
- Cool completely before serving
- If not using right away, spoon the chutney into a container with a tight-fitting lid
- Cover and refrigerate until needed
- Properly stored, this chutney will keep for up to 1 week
