Fresh Cranberry Chutney Recipe

Ingredients

Makes about 2 cups

  • 1 (12-ounce) package fresh cranberries
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper

Method

  1. In a large saucepan, combine the cranberries, vinegar and sugar and bring to a boil
  2. Reduce heat to low and stir in the cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and crushed red pepper
  3. Simmer until the mixture is thick, stirring frequently, about 20 minutes
  4. Cool completely before serving
  5. If not using right away, spoon the chutney into a container with a tight-fitting lid
  6. Cover and refrigerate until needed
  7. Properly stored, this chutney will keep for up to 1 week
