Sweet Pull-Apart Biscuit Ring Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 3 cups Bisquick baking mix
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons grated orange peel
  • 2/3 cup cold water
  • 3 tablespoons margarine or butter – softened

Method

  1. Mix 2/3 cup sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg; reserve.
  2. Mix baking mix, 2 tbsp sugar, orange peel and water until soft dough forms.
  3. Turn dough onto cloth-covered board well dusted with baking mix.
  4. Gently roll in baking mix to coat; shape into ball.
  5. Knead 1 minute.
  6. Shape into slightly flattened round; cut into 16 wedges.
  7. Shape each wedge into ball.
  8. Dip in margarine; coat with sugar mixture.
  9. Place side by side in ungreased 6 cup microwave-proof ring mold, pressing lightly together; sprinkle with any remaining sugar mixture.
  10. Place mold on inverted microwave-proof plate in microwave oven.
  11. Microwave on high (100%) 3 minutes; rotate mold 1/2 turn.
  12. Microwave until wooden pick inserted in center of 1 or 2 biscuits comes out clean and biscuits spring back with touched lightly (sugar mixture will appear wet), 1 3/4 to 2 3/4 minutes longer.
  13. Let stand on heatproof surface 5 minutes (do not use rack).
  14. Invert on heatproof serving plate.
  15. Serve warm.
  16. Tightly wrap any remaining biscuits (to serve, unwrap and heat in microwave).
  17. Makes 16 biscuits.
