Low Fat Chutney-Glazed Yogurt Spread Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 Thick Yogurt
  • 1/2 cup shredded lowfat Cheddar cheese, (2 ounces)
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped green
  • onion (with top)
  • 1/2 teaspoon curry powder
  • 1 jar chutney (about 1 (9 ounces)
  • cup
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions, (with tops)
  • 1 THICK YOGURT
  • 4 cups plain nonfat yogurt

Method

  1. Prepare Thick Yogurt.
  2. Mix yogurt, cheese, 1 tablespoon onion and the curry powder.
  3. Spread mixture about 3/4-inch thick in shallow 8-inch serving dish.
  4. Top with chutney.
  5. Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons onions.
  6. Serve with plain toast rounds or crackers if desired.

THICK YOGURT Line 6-inch strainer with basket-style paper coffee filter or double-thickness cheesecloth.

  1. Place strainer over bowl.
  2. Spoon 4 cups plain nonfat yogurt into strainer.
  3. Cover strainer and bowl and refrigerate at least 12 hours, draining liquid from bowl occasionally
