Lemon Crock Pot Chicken Slow Cooker Recipe
Ingredients
- boneless, skinless chicken breast halves
- 1/4 cup fat free, reduced sodium chicken broth
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
- garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
Method
- Cut the breast, lengthwise, into 2 equal halves
- Season with pepper and salt
- In a skillet, melt the butter, add the chicken breast halves and cook until both sides of the chicken are brown
- Remove the chicken from heat and put in the crock pot
- Pour the chicken broth to the skillet to loosen a bit
- Pour the heated broth into the crock pot, over the chicken
- Season with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, garlic cloves and onion powder
- Cover pot and cook on a low heat setting for 4 ½ to 5 hours
- Add the lemon juice during the last 1 hour of cooking, cover, and let simmer; the chicken should be tender and fall apart
