Crock Pot Chicken Dumplings Slow Cooker Recipe


  • 1 (3 lb.) chicken
  • salt and pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 tsp powdered marjoram
  • 1/4 tsp powdered thyme
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine (optional)
  • 1 cup dairy sour cream
  • 1 cup packaged biscuit mix
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley
  • 6 Tbsps. milk
  • 10 small white onions


  1. Season the chicken with salt and pepper
  2. Leave for a few minutes and place in the crock pot
  3. Imbed the cloves gently into one onion and place all the onions with the meat
  4. Mix in the garlic, thyme, marjoram, bay leaf and wine
  5. Place lid and cook for 5 hours on low and once cooked take out the cloves and the bay leaf
  6. Add the sour cream and stir well
  7. Mix the parsley, biscuit mix and the milk together and increase to High
  8. Drop the dumplings gently from about 1 tsp away from the corner of the pot
  9. Leave covered for another 30 minutes
